15 Favorite Beauty Products I Use Daily

15 of my Favorite Beauty Products (that I use daily) via lilblueboo.com

You know when you find something and you just have to share it? That’s how I feel about these 15 items that I use every day.  Some might be a little strange (like kitchen sponges in the shower?) but who cares…..if it works…..right? The best part is that I feel like I’ve hit the jackpot because I’ve never spent less on my beauty products.

See them all in the gallery below with links to more info. I’d love to know your favorites too!

*Just a note on the custom compounded moisturizer. I think you need a script for it. A nurse practitioner (Janet Miller) writes it for me at Town Center Pharmacy but your dermatologist or primary doctor might be able to as well.  You might also be able to find an over the counter alternative that is close. Hope that helps!

I live in a small town, and can’t even begin to think of where there might be a compounding pharmacy . . . is there anything comparable to your recipe???

Are you stalking me during my beauty routine? :p I swear I use almost the exact same products…except I’m a Joppa (joppaminerals.com) girl all the way.

Aslo, that Aussie Mega is the only way to tame my untame-able hair!

I was so excited to see your moisturizer tip! I’ve been needing a better one but didn’t know where to start. I called the compounding pharmacies in my small town but none had the ingredients on hand. I called another pharmacy in a bigger town but they told me I’d need a prescription. Do you have to have a prescription for yours?

LOVE Bare Minerals, all their products. This foundation works great, but I can’t be lazy and not wash my face at night when I wear it.

  5. Jacque says

Thanks so much for sharing! I called my dermatologist to get a prescription, but they said they need to know what it’s being mixed with and specific amounts???

  6. Lynn says

Great post! Thanks for sharing! I hoard Bare Minerals Medium beige, too. Don’t steal my stash! :) I like Bo-ing concealer as well. Great idea with the sponges!

  7. Suzanne says

My favorite product of all time is the Almay eyemakeup remover pads :)
i can’t live without them. I will try your sponge idea in the shower…genius.

I love that eyeliner. It’s one of the few I can still see on my eyes at the end of the day.

Reviva Labs (www.revivalabs.com) makes a night cream called Alpha Lipoic Acid, Vitamin C Ester, & DMAE cream. It’s great! I bought it last year at my local health food store for like $23. I don’t see the strengths or percentages on the label. They make glycolic acid creams too, in 5% and 10%, as well as a glycolic acid facial cleanser and a toner. The 5% glycolic acid was too strong and stinging for me, so I may try the cleanser and/or toner. (You put the glycolic cream on, then the ALA/Vit C/DMAE cream over top.) I agree Ashley, these ingredients work great! I have to try the Aussie hair spray. I love hair spray that doesn’t smell all stinky! Oh, try Urban Decay’s eyeliner – it is waterproof and stays perfect all day.

Ashley, i’m at the Western Pacific region. Thank you so much! Now i can better make use of the hydrogen peroxide on the shelf. I’ve been getting worried about my teeth getting yellowish.

Ashley. We just got terrible news yesterday. Our son, Michael, 16, relapsed his leukemia for the second time. There aren’t many options left. Possibly a bone marrow transplant. Possibly an experimental study (our of Philadelphia). That’s it. And he’s been fighting this since 2/5/2008 when he was 11 in grade 6. He’s now a junior and was looking ahead to college and life. He was scheduled to be done with this relapse protocol this summer. Leukemia blasts showed up in his blood draw yesterday. I am so afraid that we are going to lose him. I can’t stop sobbing. They are trying to come up with the best plan, but like I said. There aren’t many. He’s stable right now so is going to school to see his friends and try to work out how he can get credit for this last semester. They have finals in a week and he’s worked so hard…even though he missed school due to hospital chemo and feeling like crud. We will need to head to Portland, OR and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital this weekend (at the latest) for help. We live in Southern Oregon and there is only a regional medical center here. No child deserves this. I am trying so hard to Choose Joy. I pray I can find it again. I have been praying for your journey for awhile now and enjoy your inspiration. Please, please lift up our son and family. Kimberly

Kimberly that is the great thing about this blog, you have our prayers. I would call St Jude’s. or have your Dr call . . . .I am asking God to just hold your family in his arms and guide you to conquer this next step through him. Do you read Jesus Calling, they have it at Costco and if you have iphones or smart phones there is an app. The messages are so helpful to read each day, reminding you that you are guided by above. I already am Kimberly. I tore my office apart today looking for some prayers that my mother sent me and I can’t find them anywhere but they were from the book
The Prayer That Changes Everything: The Hidden Power of Praising God
by Stormie Omartian. I think they might help. Praying for Michael and that he is healed! Love, Ashley

I love TruBlend, too. I use shade 405. The lightest shade they make and the lightest shade of any brand I can find in a drugstore. I am sadly so, so pale that when I went to London and ran out of foundation, I bought the lightest shade I could find and it was too dark. I’m whiter than British people!!!

Love that you shared this list. It really caught my attention when I saw that #1 was hydrogen peroxide. I thought, “This is my kind of woman, for sure.” I’ve been using rubbing alcohol in lieu of a toner (I know, bad Bad BAD. But it’s cheap.) and decided to try out the Neutrogena toner you recommended. Apparently my area is crammed full of Lil Blue Boo fans because so far, every store I’ve been to is sold out of it. It’s eerie. All the other Neutrogena products are on the shelf looking available and innocent, but that one product: Gone, baby, gone. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for it. In the meantime, I’ll continue to enjoy your posts and your humor!

PLEASE READ!!! Just read the Hydrogen Peroxide tip. Please check with your dentist. I just had a conversation with my dentist the other day about dental myths, etc. She brought up peroxide and how it’s NOT a myth that it can cause problems related to your gums and even cause cancer with long term use. Please talk to your dentist before continuing this practice.
