If I had a little girl, I would just love to host a Bohemian Princess party. We’d do a nature walk, and turn our found treasures of leaves, twigs, rocks and feathers into an art project and deck ourselves out in costume jewels. We’d braid each others’ hair and tuck daisies behind our ears. And we’d eat wild berries and cream in big bowls! Have you tried felting yet? It’s so easy and a fun effect. We’ve been making these little mixed color pinwheels for accessories. Boo’s favorites are the rainbow ones. With this technique using pipecleaners it’s easy to make a long “rope-like” piece of felted wool.
First, you need some wool roving (I got mine from Dharma Trading)…..and a little bag goes a long way. It comes in a variety of colors:
To make a few last minute gifts, I made these pretty ribbon wrapped headbands:
I used plain plastic headbands purchased from Target and soft satin ribbon. You can also order the plastic headbands from The Soda Pop Shop here. The Aleene’s Tacky Spray (make sure to use an acid free spray) is used to hold the ribbon in place.
