We’ve spent the last few months casually potty training Sienna. She’s been REALLY great if I let her just run around the house naked, but she hasn’t had much interest in wearing underwear.
I told her on Tuesday: No more diapers. Well, that didn’t go over so well because she didn’t want to wear “big girl” underwear….and I can’t take her out in public without pants on!
Now she’s potty trained! So what happened since beginning of the week? Here is what worked for us! I made this pretty little box and we call it her “underwear box.” It holds all of her underwear and she gets to pick out which pair she wants to wear in the morning and after nap time .
I had the hardest time trying to come up with a gift for my friend Shari’s daughter’s birthday! Shari is very crafty and sews clothes for her daughter Finley so I didn’t really want to make her something that she has probably already made herself!
Finley loves books and I spied the cutest photo of her reading at a bookstore on Shari’s personal blog.
I took the photo of Finley and printed it out to 8×10 size. Then I cut her silhouette out and used it as a template for the one I cut out of the paper. I used a complimentary cardstock for the background. On the mat I added her name and a quote from Dr. Seuss: The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.
Happy Birthday Finley!
…if that is a word. Not a lot of blog posts this week because I am focused on painting at a client’s house. So today’s post is a photo of what I worked on today. This corner is only about 20% of the mural….so stayed tuned for the rest in a few days.
Everyone always assumes that my daughter must have the most amazing room since I paint so much nursery art. Nope. Her room is beige with a few Beatrix Potter wall hangings I put together and a couple of birdcages.
BUT….I’ve painted a lot of nurseries and the one I am working on now is definitely my favorite and I think it might inspire me to tackle Sienna’s room soon. What little girl wouldn’t want to sleep in a fairy forest?
